- Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary — Gujarat's largest wetland bird sanctuary, in the Bhal region near Ahmedabad, and the state's first Ramsar site (2012). It is a major wintering ground for flamingos, pelicans and cranes.
- Kanjli Wetland — a man-made wetland created in 1870 by damming the Bein (Kali Bein) river at Kapurthala for irrigation. Ramsar site since 2002. Punjab's other Ramsar sites include Harike, Ropar, Beas Conservation Reserve, Nangal and Keshopur-Miani.
- Sandi Bird Sanctuary — in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, centred on the Dahar jheel; declared a Ramsar site in 2019.
