About JKSSB Patwari

The JKSSB Patwari is a Group C post in the J&K Revenue Department. Patwaris are the first point of contact for land-related matters at the village level — they maintain Khasra and Khatauni land records, register mutations (transfers and inheritances), conduct Girdawari (crop inspection) twice a year, assist in land acquisition proceedings, and prepare revenue reports for Tehsildars. With 1,200 vacancies in the 2024 batch, it is one of JKSSB's most recruited posts.

The written examination has 120 objective-type questions, 120 marks, 2-hour duration, and −0.25 negative marking per wrong answer. The paper is split across General Knowledge & J&K Current Affairs, Revenue Laws & Land Records (the post-specific section), Arithmetic, Reasoning, and English. Revenue Laws is the distinguishing section — candidates who prepare this thoroughly have a significant scoring advantage over others.
