About JKSSB

The J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is the statutory body responsible for recruiting candidates to Group C and Group D non-gazetted posts across all departments of J&K UT. Established under the J&K Services Selection Board Act, 2012 and strengthened post the 2019 UT reorganisation, JKSSB is the primary employment gateway for J&K domicile candidates.

Major posts recruited by JKSSB include Patwari (Revenue Department), Junior Assistant (various departments), Finance Account Assistant (Finance/Treasury), Sub Inspector of Police (Home Department), Village Level Worker, Wildlife Guard, and many others. Every exam is an OMR-based objective test with negative marking.

A J&K Domicile Certificate is mandatory for all JKSSB posts — no exceptions. Most Group C posts require graduation with an age limit of 18–40 years. There is no interview for Group C posts — selection is purely based on written examination merit.
